On March 31, 2016, Professor Trevor Drew from the British Animal and Plant Health Organization, accompanied by a part-time doctoral supervisor in our college and a researcher from Academy of Military Medical Sciences, Changchun Tu, came to our college for a visit. Professor Zhang Xichen, Executive Vice Dean, Professor Liu Juxiong, Associate Dean of Teaching, Professor Lei Liancheng, Associate Dean of Graduate Studies, Professor Liu Guowen, Associate Dean of Research, Associate Professor Rao Jiahui, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Professor Ding Zhuang, Director of the Department of Preventive Veterinary Medicine, Professor Song Deguang, Director of Department of Basic Veterinary Medicine , Professor Li Xiaobing, Director of the Department of Clinical Veterinary Medicine, Professor Wang Xinping, Director of the Department of Veterinary Public Health, and Bai yin from Global Engagement Office, had a discussion with Professor Trevor Drew.
Professor Zhang Xichen, Executive Vice Dean, extended a warm welcome to Professor Trevor Drew and his entourage. He briefly introduced the construction and development of the college. The two sides conducted in-depth discussions and exchanges on academic exchanges, scientific research cooperation, and student cultivation. A broad consensus was reached.
After the symposium, Professor Trevor Drew and his entourage visited the college’s scientific research laboratory and undergraduate experimental teaching center.
In the afternoon, Professor Trevor Drew gave a report entitled "Veterinary Education and Careers in the UK and the Work of APHA" for the teachers and students of the college. During the questioning and interactive session, Professor Trevor Drew actively interacted with the teachers and students on the content of the report and academic issues in related fields, patiently and meticulously answered the questions raised by the teachers and students, and thus benefited the teachers and students a lot.
