On June 29, the Jilin University-Edinburgh University Joint Student Training Symposium was held in the College of Veterinary Medicine, Jilin University. Dr. Bob Dalzier from the University of Edinburgh, Dr. Heather Bacon from the Royal Veterinary Research Institute, Dr. Hayley Worst, Royal Veterinary Research Institute, Bai Yin, Director of Comprehensive Department of Global Engagement Office of Jilin University, Bai Yu, Director of Cooperative Discipline Department, Executive Deputy Dean of College of Veterinary Medicine, Professor Zhang Xichen, Deputy Dean, Professor Lei Liancheng, Deputy Dean, Professor Liu Juxiong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee Luan Zhiwei, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee Rao Jiahui, Dean of the Affiliated Animal Hospital, Professor Zhang Naisheng, Basic Veterinary Medicine More than 30 people, including Professor Song Deguang, Director of the Basic Veterinary Medicine Department, Professor Wang Xinping, Director of the Department of Veterinary Public Health, Professor Liu Dianfeng and Teacher Li Yumei of the College of Animal Science, attended the symposium. The symposium was presided over by Professor Zhang Xichen, Executive Deputy Dean of the School of Veterinary Medicine. Professor Zhang Xichen extended a warm welcome to the visitors from the University of Edinburgh and introduced participants and the basic situation of the college and introduce the basic situation of the School of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine of the University of Edinburgh. The two parties conducted in-depth discussions on the two issues of "joint training of students" and "introduction of foreign teachers".
In the afternoon, experts from the University of Edinburgh visited the Third Ring Square and the "Xiaoteng" statue in our hospital, and then visited the animal hospital, herbarium, and functional laboratory. Experts from the University of Edinburgh praised the teaching and research conditions of our college. This symposium is of great significance to the joint training of students and in-depth cooperation between our school and the University of Edinburgh, and it opened the prelude to the cooperation between our school and the University of Edinburgh.
