Before the meeting, Zhang Xi, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and president of Jilin University, met with Director Yu Kangzhen and his entourage and had cordial talks.
Executive Vice President Zheng Weitao delivered a speech at the opening ceremony. At the same time, he also introduced the basic information of Jilin University and the development of veterinary major. Li Hengjin, Director of Degree and Graduate Education Development Center, Ministry of Education, delivered a speech. He explained in detail the current situation and challenge of the national professional degree graduate education, the guidance of the national professional degree level evaluation and the quality assurance and monitoring of the national professional degree level. Later, Academician Xia Xianzhu stressed the importance of training high-quality veterinary professionals from the perspective that development is the first priority, innovation is the first driving force, and talent is the first resource. Academician Jin Ningyi put forward some suggestions on expanding the enrollment scale of professional degree postgraduates, adapting to the needs of China's economic and social development and veterinary public health cause, and giving full play to the guiding and consulting functions of the Professional Degree postgraduates Education Steering Committee.
Then, Deputy Chairman Dong Weichun made a special report on "System innovation and Veterinary Doctor professional degree education". He elaborated on the history of the establishment of veterinary degree education, degree system, institution license, training management and professional qualification.
Afterwards, Secretary General Li Xiangrui of the Committee interpreted the Key Points of Work of the Committee in 2021. Jiang Ping, dean of College of Veterinary Medicine of Nanjing Agricultural University, explained the formulation of training program, construction of core course textbooks, selection of demonstration bases, basic requirements of professional degrees and other documents. Zhang Aying, deputy dean of the Graduate School of Nanjing Agricultural University, made a research report on the American DVM project.
The meeting also discussed and revised the "Guiding Training Program for Professional Degree Graduates of Veterinary Doctor" and "Basic Requirements for Professional Degree Graduates of Veterinary Doctor", and discussed the "Teaching material construction Plan for core Courses of Veterinary Degree", "Selection Plan for National Joint Training Demonstration Base for Veterinary Doctor Degree Graduates" and related matters of the 2021 annual Training conference.
At this meeting, Chairman Yu Kangzhen made an important speech. First of all, he made a brief review of the committee's work in 2020 from three aspects: first, take history as a mirror, create a future, and steadily promote the development of veterinary professional degree education; Second, deepen the construction of veterinary degree education system to the international standard; Third, emancipate the mind, adhere to the integrity of innovation, high quality to promote the conformal development of veterinary degree education. Then he put forward three aspects of opinions and requirements, one is to meet the demand, training of modern talents; Second, collaborative innovation, take the road of production and education integration; The third is the global vision, the establishment of three dimensions of quality view.
