Chen Wei graduated from Norman Bethune Medical University with a bachelor's degree of medicine in 1994. She earned a master’s degree in agronomy from Quartermaster University, and a doctor’s degree in agronomy from Jilin University. From 2006 to 2009, she was a visiting scholar in Department of Microbiology and Immunology, Dalhousie University, Canada. Since 2010, she has been an associate professor in the College of Veterinary Medicine of Jilin University. Now she is in charge of two general programs of the National Natural Science Foundation of China.

1. Molecular mechanisms of innate immune recognition and signal transduction

2. Intestinal microbiota of livestock and poultry
