ZHANG Xichen obtained his B.Sc.major in Veterinary Medicine from Laiyang Agricultural University in 1983. Then he went to Changchun University of Agriculture and Animal Sciences and obtained his M.D. & Ph.D. with Prof. HU Lisheng in Veterinary Parasitology and Parasitic Zoonosis until 1991.From 1991 to 2004 he worked in Changchun University of Agriculture and Animal Sciences. From 2004 to present, he is working in Department of Veterinary Parasitology and Parasitic Zoonosis, College of Veterinary Medicine, Jilin University. In 1997, as a visiting scholar, he went to Southwest Foundation for Biomedical Research, San Antonio, Texas, USA for one year. Now, He is the vice-president of the Chinese Society of Parasitology, the Chinese Society of Veterinary Parasitology, and the Chinese Protozoological Society.

Research Interests:

He mainly focuses on the researches about veterinary parasitology and parasitic zoonosis, including the control and prevention of parasitic diseases, interactions between parasites and host (innate immunity), biology of parasites and protozoa virus, and anti-tumor role of parasites.
